Cheap Cruise Missiles

This missile and launcher is one of them I got at the dollar store recently. The conversion potential was immense and so I got ten of them.

There was also a set that came with these two jet aircraft. Shown here with two Revell 1/72nd scale plastic figures.

Both the US and the Soviet Union developed various cruise missiles in the 1950s and later and many were very large. Most were launched from ships or aircraft but some were ground launched. While there are a few models of these in various scales, few are accurate and even fewer are affordable.

So I determined that for two dollars and about one minutes worth of work, I could make some reasonable looking conversions into cruise missiles. Often these were battlefield tactical nuclear weapons, chemical weapons, or anti-ship missiles.

I think it looks pretty good for $2 and about one minutes worth of work. I imagine after some painting and decals it could make up into a pretty good looking cruise missile. Cut off the landing gear, use window maker to create a filler for the canopy windows, then paint the whole thing, including the windows. Minimal markings and off you go.
